I have a BA in Design and a minor in Dance from UC Santa Cruz. I have worked in fast-paced corporate environments, for small family-owned businesses, built websites for faculty members, and ushered at Hollywood Bowl. So yeah, I’ve been around. Using my multi-passionate background, I did what I do best - created! Voila! Sonia Smith Creative was born to help business owners like you who want more out of life than work. You value adventure and creative endeavors. In fact, you started your business to follow your passion and have flexibility.

When I’m not working… you’ll find me dancing (ballet is my favorite) or traveling around in the teardrop trailer I built with my husband (Moose comes too). I live in LA and fall in love with California more and more every day.

Taking in all of the historic architecture and appreciating the work of the local craftspeople, like when we went to Murano, Italy and marveled at the glass sculptures!

It took my husband and I 3 months to build our very own teardrop trailer. We take it on all of our roadtrips and let me just say, I don’t think I could ever go back to tent camping.

What is your availability?

My availability varies from month to month but it is usually around 10 hourly clients and 2 HoneyBook projects per month. As my team scales, this may change but you can always inquire for current availability. If there isn’t any, we’ll put ya right on the waitlist!

I’m nervous to outsource my work - what should I expect?

I totally understand, outsourcing can feel so scary! BUT - it’s also one of the best things you can do for your business. Why? It gives you time to focus on all the parts of your business you love and are really good at! When it comes to the nitty-gritty details of what to expect, it’s actually pretty simple. We set you up in my project management system, Trello, where you can assign recurring tasks or upcoming projects to me and my team. As we move through these assignments, you’ll be able to track our progress and can share any questions or details via Voxer!

How do we get started?

My onboarding process is quite streamlined thanks to HoneyBook! First, you submit a contact form and share a little bit about your business and what service you are in interested in. Then, we hop on a quick call to get to know each other and chat details. Afterwards, I send over a brochure with my packages and pricing so you can choose which one would is the perfect fit for you! Of course, I’m always happy to advise. Once that’s settled, I send over a proposal, you sign our contract, I share a Google Folder for you to add in your business details which also gives you access to our Trello board, the place we manage our projects! Then…you let out a sigh of relief because you’ve successfully outsourced!

How much does this cost?

Virtual Assistant packages start at $500 , OBM packages start at $975 and HoneyBook Services start at $300. You can learn more about all of my services HERE ! HoneyBook setups services are one-time projects while VA and OBM packages are recurring! If you have any questions about a one-off project, just reach out and ask!

What is an OBM vs a VA?

An Online Business Manager handles high level projects and is able to oversee a team. We act as a right-hand helper and advisor when it comes to running your business. My OBM package also includes access to my wonderful built-in VA Team. 

A VA tackles general admin tasks within your business such as newsletters, blogging, and social media. Since my team has a wide range of specialties, I assign tasks to the team member that specializes in that area.

Some types of projects are not included in the VA Team service so be sure to check out the OBM Services page to learn what package your project best fits under!

What is HoneyBook?

HoneyBook is a robust yet simple Client Relationship Management (CRM) system. I use it for my entire onboarding process from contact forms, to scheduling calls, sending questionnaires, invoicing, and more! What do you need from me? What if I travel a lot?

Fun fact, we’re basically pros at traveling so we specialize in working with business owners who are adventurous just like us! We believe that traveling makes us better business owners, but we also understand the importance of keeping things running while we’re off the grid. When we work together, we can come up with a game plan to figure out how to handle all of yours tasks such as inquiries, blogging, social media, and inbox management while you are away. (Unless, of course, you want to take us with you!)

What types of projects and tasks can I outsource?

You can outsource anything that isn’t your specialized service that can be completed virtually (as much as I’d loveeee to take wedding photos with you, I’d leave that to the pro). Not sure what you need to outsource? Take a few weeks to write down which tasks you are repetitively doing. Then, sort those tasks into tasks that require your expertise and tasks that don’t. You’d be surprised by what you can actually pass off. If you aren't sure, just ask - we’ve worked with A LOT of business owners so we can help you brainstorm!

What is a VA team?

A VA Team is a built-in toolbox. Instead of having one virtual assistant that splits their time between multiple clients, a team focuses on their technical specialties and results in quicker turnaround times, quicker communication, and increased task capabilities such as copywriting! Why a team? Because just like you, each team member has the thing they’re best at which means you get specialized help on a variety of tasks!
